Shell Click

Privacy policy

Shell Click runs saved shell commands in a native terminal on your Mac. Its app data and terminal activity stay on your device.

Effective July 17, 2026

Information stored on your Mac

Shell Click stores the command aliases, working folders, shell commands, command order, and global shortcut you choose. It also creates local runner scripts, terminal logs, and favicon cache files needed to operate saved commands. This information is stored in your user account on your Mac and is not uploaded to a Shell Click server.

Information we collect

Shell Click does not require an account and does not collect personal information, saved commands, terminal output, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or precise location. The app contains no ads or third-party analytics SDK.

Local connections

When a running command exposes a localhost port, Shell Click may connect to that loopback address to find the service favicon. These requests stay on your Mac. Selecting a displayed port opens its localhost address in your default browser.

Commands you run

Shell Click executes the shell commands you provide in the folders you select. Those commands may read files, contact network services, or use other tools according to their own behavior. Shell Click does not control or collect the data handled by user-authored commands.

MCP server

The bundled MCP server runs locally over standard input and output. It lets compatible tools list, create, edit, and delete the same command definitions stored by the app. It does not provide a remote Shell Click service or upload command data.

Deleting data

Deleting a command removes its saved definition, terminal session, runner script, log, and cached favicon. Other app data remains on your Mac until you remove it. Uninstalling the app may not automatically remove files from your user Library folder.

Purchases

Direct-download purchases are processed by Creem. Shell Click does not receive or store your full payment card details. Creem handles purchase information under its own privacy policy.

Website

The Shell Click website does not use advertising, analytics, accounts, or tracking cookies. Purchase links take you to Creem, where its privacy policy applies.

Support and policy changes

For privacy questions, use the support contact listed on the Shell Click website. If Shell Click’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date before the change takes effect.

This policy applies to the Shell Click macOS app, its bundled local MCP server, and this website.
